I can’t even begin to understand how that even happened so fast. It did, though. Like everything, time has passed and has passed at an incredible rate. It has accelerated. But it is good. I love it. In ten years we have had a great life. Nothing very turbulent. Nothing was very sad. A fight here, a bad decision there, but always a reconciliation. It has always been easy to reconcile with Laura. It’s because she’s my best friend. That’s the secret. That’s the secret to any sustainable marriage. You have to be friends. You can be great lovers, but if you’re not friends, it might not last. I’ve had the sweetest fortune of making the two brightest eyed, little wonders with my best friend. We get to watch them develop and grow into these people that we want them to be and when we sit back and think about it, it blows our freaking minds to see them turn into human beings. In ten years we’ve had two cats. Brodie (didn’t care for much) and Marshall (actually don’t mind him). We’ve had one and half dogs. I say one and a half because I already had Banky when Laura and I first met. She was my original girl. She’s gone now and that is the hardest Laura has ever seen me cry.
